SHC Login

I have installed System Health Check on my system. All seems to work ok. I log in with my root account and password, but when I try and do anything from (in the web based tool) the menu - like starting an analysis. it says I must login as an administrator. What is this and what is the password for this?? Please help. Nowhere in the dicumentation does it say anything about this.

Re: SHC Login

these users names and passwords are completely seperate from thr normal UNIX ID's. These users names are used when you install the "System Health Check" tools
and is asked when you get to a login in screen for the
"Compaq Web-Based Management" screen:
http://your_host:2031/cpqlogin.htm

Default password is administrator, if you changed the password and can't remmember it, you have to deinstall/resinstall Compaq Management Agents.

Btw. it is well documented as I remember

Re: SHC Login

Thanks..I have de-installed and re-installed the Insight Management Agent and System Health Check in this order. Nowhere does it ask me to supply usernames for accounts etc. See the copy of the installation file. When I try and use the page you gave me - http://your_host:2031/cpqlogin.htm, I get a page does not exist error. However if I use https://your_host:2381/ - as supplied in the documentation, I get a login screen from my server. If I then log in as administrator for both user and passwd, I get a login error. The only thing I can log in with is the root password. Am I missing something obvious?

Re: SHC Login

Francois,

of course you would have to replace your_host with the name or ip of your host! ;-)

Re: SHC Login

Hi,

i got the impression that I need to put my regular user accounts into IM_admin group in /etc/group for accessing that part.

give it a try.

Re: SHC Login

Yong,

why not reading the documentation? Here is a link:

http://h30097.www3.hp.com/cma/docs/eng/tru64unx.pdf

Chapter 3-16 explain it in detail. So you can answer your question by yourself.

Btw. RTFM will save time!

Re: SHC Login

Hi Ralf,

after reading the PDf file, It confirms my memory is right. I think we are talking about administrator account of Insight agent.

of course, that's good reading though.

Cheers !
