Re: SWINSTALL not finding depot
If you put the depot in /home/me and the name of it is rsync.depot, then to install it you need to do:
# swinstall -s /home/me/rsync.depot \*
Substitue your directory and depot name as appropriate, but put the ' \*' after then path to the depot (there is a space between them) as this tells swinstall to install everything in that particular depot.

Re: SWINSTALL not finding depot
Actually I just tried that, I saw it on a similar thread, but still not working... I have the depot in the correct location.. I was trying to do this install on 2 servers, it worked on one but not the other, and both servers are very similar to each other.

Re: SWINSTALL not finding depot
Which is what?
>>it worked on one but not the other,
So what EXACTLY happened?
If you could please share the EXACT path to the depot file and the depot file name and also the EXACT command used and the output received, that would be most helpful.

Re: SWINSTALL not finding depot
How about downloading rsync again and trying one more time. I know you said, you're able to install the depot on other server.
Compare the cksum of the source depot from other server.
Also check the installation notes which says to install gettext, libiconv and popt before building or installing rsync package.
Good Luck!!

Re: SWINSTALL not finding depot
You must install all run time and build time dependencies. Check the dependencies of the dependencies.
Install the build time dependencies first.
rsync has caused me trouble on HP-UX over the years.
If it does not work from the depot, try compiling the source.
