SYSLOG not logging to NAS

I have setup a nas share to collect syslog information from all my servers. I am using a nas share so i can search and parse information from all servers from a sinlge location.

One of my servers is not writing to the nas share and I cant understand why.

It is not a nas issue as I can write to the nas manaully. It is not a permission or a space issue.

I am using the same syslog.conf on all servers so it is not a syntax issue within that file.

Am I missing something on this host that would prevent writing to a nas from syslog ?

Please let me know what I can post to help you understand this issue.

Re: SYSLOG not logging to NAS

Shalom,

1) Manually mount the nfs share and run the touch command as root. touch myfile You will probably get a permission issue. If not, post your syslog.conf and take a look at the local copy of syslog for clues.

2) A firewall blocking port 514 would also have this effect.
