Samba Share Problem

I have a pretty large CIFS share on HPUX 11.23 but when I'm trying to copy a 3.5GB file to it from a Windows 2003 server I get the message "Not Enough Disk Space Available". Why would this be? Large Files is enabled on this lvol... Help! :)

Re: Samba Share Problem

Shalom,

Please post Samba HP-UX version.

You might need a patch (Samba version update) to enable files bigger than 2 GB.

Does Samba 2.8 support files greater than 2GB?

Re: Samba Share Problem

if the share has largefile option enabled (confirm with cat /etc/mnttab), and you have more than 50 GB free space, the window file less than 4GB should be copied over to the share. CIFS share's attributes are carried over to window side by default. there is no limit on file size through SAMBA. What the samba log say?

Re: Samba Share Problem

Even stranger, I can copy a 5GB file from my workstation to the same CIFS share?? I am running Windows XP with 4GB of ram.. the Windows 2003 Advance server with 20GB of memory can't (18GB of the ram is allocated to the SQL Instances). Could this be the problem, lack of available memory - but showing as not enought disk space ?
