Samba question - carriage returns!
I am running HP11.11 with Samba 3.0.7 and I am having a problem with carriage returns in my files. They are being treated as control characters and are appearing as "^M". We then manipulate these programmes but the manipulations are failing because of the lack of real carriage returns.
What variable should be changed to fix the above problem.
Many thanks - Mark P.

Re: Samba question - carriage returns!
Shalom,
A newer version of Samba would fix this issue. This is a bug.
http://software.hp.com
search for
CIFS/9000
That is HP-UX-ese for Samba
Install the client and the server, a boot is required for the client.

Re: Samba question - carriage returns!
I have now installed the new version. Is there a variable for each share in smb.conf that needs to be adjusted?
(We used to use a product called ScoVision and the amendment was in a tab in each share setup called Line Endings which was a tab to automatically convert between Unix and Windows line endings for files matching whatever you specified using wildcards if easier)
