Secure Path: spmgr display = host is not authorized to connect to the remote host

Hi,

I'm trying to clean up a legacy rp3440 (11.11) with legacy disks on an old but fully available san.

I want to remove the LUNs on the legcay san that I have migrated away, they are under secure path control.

I've removed the logical volumes, volume groups, vg device files and I'm now left with just the physical LUNs/disks.

normally for this I'd do a "spmgr display" and then an "spmgr delete wwwn"

on this machine when I do an spmgr display I get the error
"Error: This host is not authorized to connect to remote host."

to get around this I did a "spmgr client add localhost" and an "spmgr client add $hostname" to my surprises they where already there.

A bit of googling turned up a suggestion that this was down to name resolution.

I looked at the error message and the "Server: $hostname" error, showing the server it was trying to connect to.

The hostname was the same as the server I was on, when I ping $hostname it resolves to the correct ip, I have an entry in /etc/hosts and dns can resolve it also, so I an covered on both sides. nsswitch.conf shows host file then dns, which also looks fine.

I can't figure out why secure path is not allowing me to connect to myself to display the lun information.
