Re: Seeking Qlogic HBA Fibreutils driver for RHAS 3.0 ia64
You should probably consult the support matrix.
If the hardware software combination is supported there should be drivers or the hardware should be picked up by the kernel.
What is the server type, then I can drill in and find you a link to the support matrix and driver site.

I've not used this hardware or software combination. What are the options that you refer to ?
Cheers,
Rob

Re: Seeking Qlogic HBA Fibreutils driver for RHAS 3.0 ia64
Options:
1. MSA/EVA
2. Multi path
3. Single path
4. Manually set parameters
5. Exit
** What I discovered that when I did the "INSTALL", I forgot to run with a "-f" switch. I had to installed this way since I'm only want to run at a single path on a multi pathings evironment, such as EVA5000 SAN.
It's working now as it should be and I can continue with my testing.
Thanks, guys!!

Re: Seeking Qlogic HBA Fibreutils driver for RHAS 3.0 ia64
But if I run the probe-luns from the Fibreutils, than I can see it perfectly.
What's up with that?? I might have to call HP on this.
Ay ideas??
Thanks,
Jorge

Re: Seeking Qlogic HBA Fibreutils driver for RHAS 3.0 ia64
I think a response center call might be useful in this situation.
I've seen some bad versions of the utilities that could not see disks when they should be visibile.
This situation can also be caused by firmware on disks, arrrays and fiber cards not being up to date. Something to check into.

Re: Seeking Qlogic HBA Fibreutils driver for RHAS 3.0 ia64
Agree with SEP. Log a fault call if you haven't already.
When you rebooted you probably picked up a new kernel that was built by the QLogic driver install.
In my experience (on x86 rather than ia64), the scripts that do the kernel builds are rather ropey to say the least, with little in the way of error checking.
This has caught me out on more than occasion, as the kernel build can go wrong, leaving out the qla2300 module, but continue to the end. When you reboot, hey presto, no SAN devices :-(
Not what you want at the end of a maintenance window on a Sunday afternoon...!
Cheers,
Rob
