Re: Sendmail command

Manuales,

Is DNS set up on the Tru64 server and does it work properly?

Does '# nslookup mydomain.com' return the IP address?

You could put mydomain.com and its IP address in /etc/hosts.

How can i review the following:

" ....Also, ensure that the mailserver ip address is resolved by hosts, instead of DNS. Maybe your DNS server has old information. Verify your DNS server...."

Re: Sendmail command

Hi,

If the DNS settings are correct then try configuring your mail server using mailsetup or mailconfig.

Thanks and regards,
Sunil.

Re: Sendmail command

If you have a DNS server use sysman to configure the system as a dns client. The dns server is configured in /etc/resolv.conf. Also, /etc/nsswitch.conf and /etc/svc.conf must be configured to search in DNS (sysman does all this for you). You must be able to do nslookup before it works.
