Simple Linux Distro Compatible w/ Proliant 3000?

Can anyone recommend a Linux distribution that I can install from one or two CDs that will automatically give me a GUI? I don't want to get bogged down in a text-driven interface that I don't understand. I'm not a computer whizz :(

The server will support Redhat 6.1, 6.2 & 7.0 & SUSE Linux 6.3 & 7.0.

If you want to have a Linux distribution that you can use learn more about Linux & administer the server, Redhat 6.x would be a better choice.

If you want to mainly use the server for a specific purpose like an application server, go for Redhat 7.0.

Among SUSE Linux, you can take your pick!

Both Redhat & SUSE will bring you to a GUI screen if the display is configured properly.

Since both these distributions are quite old, getting the installation media may be difficult.

Redhat's installation media would be 2 discs as far as I remember. You could look out on the web for this.

Pretty much all modern distro's have GUI interfaces these days.
One long-haired git at your service...

Chances are the original author has long since forgotten about this question...

Is there any point in replying to a thread that's nearly two years old ??
