Snapshot / clones on Linux & MSA1000

Hello,
a customer asked to me if there is any way to make snapashot/clones of volumes on a linux servers connected to MSA1000.

Does anyone kow if there is any software to do this ?

With LVM, you can clone a volume. It's a software cloning. Use lvcreate -n snap.


Virtual Replicator can do snapshots too.
Por que hacerlo dificil si es posible hacerlo facil? - Why do it the hard way, when you can do it the easy way?

I├Г┬мve already saw the o.s. capability with lvcreate, but the customer wants a "commercial" product.

Virtual Replicator is only for Windows platform.

LVM is a port of a commerical product from HP-UX, originating from Veritas(Symantec).

Just because its free doesn't make it bad.
