Snmpd

Hi all,
i've a problem with snmpd.
I shoul like to enable a verbose log but if i use the -D option the daemon does not respond.
So i think i have to specify the TOKENS but i don't know how.
Or i can do it in another way?
Thanks

Re: Snmpd

What info do you need? Have you checked /var/log/messages?

Re: Snmpd

The problem is that if i specify the slapd to start with -D option, it don't respond to my snmpget request.

I'm looking for a way to enable a debug log of snmpd demon.
Thanks

Re: Snmpd

By man snmpd i get:

-D[TOKEN[,...]]
Turn on debugging output for the given TOKEN(s). Without any
tokens specified, it defaults to printing all the tokens
(which is equivalent to the keyword "ALL"). You might want to
try ALL for extremely verbose output. Note: You can not put a
space between the -D flag and the listed TOKENs.

But i don't know what are and where i can find these tokens

Re: Snmpd

Do a man on snmpd.conf - it goes on (at length) about tokens....

But have you tried -DALL (all I can see is that you mentioned -D caused the daemon not to respond).

Does anything appear in the snmpd.log at all?

Re: Snmpd

What does it do? Time out, give an error, or just sit there until you quit?

Re: Snmpd

Timeout.
But it writes a very verbose log...

Re: Snmpd

Can you post the snmpget query?

I'll see if I can replicate the problem.
