Software depot on 11.23 and clients are 11.11

Hello,

I have a few software registered on an 11.23 server and am trying to install them on some 11.11 servers over the network as root. I am getting:

"caat0sa42:": You do not have permission for this operation. The depot owner, system administrator, or alternate root owner may need to use the "swreg" or "swacl" command to give you permission. Or, to manage applications designed and packaged for nonprivileged mode, see the "run_as_superuser" option in the "sd" man page.

I have restarted the swagentd but no luck.

Aside from running as root, you probably need to register your depots. See the 'swreg' manpages.

The software are registered with swreg and the daemon restarted. I have both source and destination systems defined in hosts file.

If you just put the ip to /etc/hosts file, you might need to check or create /etc/nsswitch.conf file.

The system has been in working state. No apparent connectivity issues, no DNS issues, etc. Does it make any difference if the depot is on 11.23 and we run swinstall on 11.11 to pull install?
FYI: Software is registered as per the initial post.

It should work fine.
You may want to make sure your SD patches are up to date.

You can try giving perms for everyone to that depot, for example:

swacl -l depot -M any_other:crwit @ /var/opt/ignite/depots/patches

swreg -l depot (in the depot itself)

The message itself does indicate either a permissions problem or that the command is not being run as root.

Check the permissions on the depot and the NFS configuration of the share point in /etc/exports
