Some I/O requests to this LV are waiting
Hi All
I have a blade BL860c running on a C7000 chassis, in which is connected to a NetApp, so lately I am having I/O issues, and dmesg as well as syslog.log is reporting the following:
/dev/vg01/lvol2 file system file data error in dev/block 0/55892768
Page I/O error occurred while paging to/from disk
PVlink 31 0x050200 Failed. The PV is not accessible.
My opinion is that this is a problem of some disk on the NetApp, please can you guys confirm?
regards

This is indicating that a disk, or the path to a disk, has failed. This disk is c5t0d2.

Re: Some I/O requests to this LV are waiting
Thank you very much for your reply, pls can you tell me if there any more evidence that the problem is either fc cables or disk itself from the NetApp. And also how todecode the HEX number?

Re: Some I/O requests to this LV are waiting
From the information given, it is hard to tell.
If you can attach the /var/adm/syslog/syslog and the output from 'ioscan -fn' that may shed a bit more light on things.
As to decoding the hex disk --
The device you posted is 0x050200:
Ignore the 0x part.
The first 2 digits are the controller in hex -- In this case a hex '05' -- so -- c5
The 3rd digit is the target in hex -- In this case a 0 -- so -- t0
The 4th digit is the device in hext -- In this case a 2 -- so -- d2
The 5th and 6th digits can be ignored.
In this case -- c5t0d2
