Stape configuration issue on the DAT 72 external tape drive

Hi,

I got a error message on the stape configuration. Pls refer to the attachment file below. I don't what is that. Is it the mdp driver not install into system or not. Can you help us to check on this problem.

Configuration
Model: rx4640
OS: hpux 11i version 2

it seems that its related to unmatch version of modules.

Have you patch the system recently.

I would suggest that you patch system to latest and apply stape again.

Hi Kharil,

I did't do the patching. They got so many patch bundle. Is it the Jun'09 11.23 Support Pack,Dec'08 11.23 Support Pack,Jun'08 11.23 Support Pack,Sept'04 11.23 Bundle 11i and Aug'04 11.23 Bundle 11i.

If i were to upgrade the os patches, will it cause the oracle application compatibility issue. Currently the application running on oracle 10gR2.
Any idea.

Yes & No,

Before patching ?

make_tape_recovery for OS
DP - Backup or fbackup,tar backup for all your Oracle mount points.

in this case, Hope your boot disk are mirrored ?

I would break the mirror, and try patching on Second disk and bring up Server and Check Oracle Database Application works fine,

than mirror back to orignal.

Yes, you can ,

But the Question is how ?

Due you have Ignite Server Setup.
(You can do OS Backup via ignite Server over the network)

for Oracle database, I would assume you need create NFS mount point of your current Server and mount in the Network Server for backup.

Please take note .You need stop Database before you backup the Oracle mount points

meaning the client server is already part of your Ignite Server,(Do you have Ignite Server Setup in our current oraganistion)

How do you intend to perfrom the OS backup, Inorder to perfrom OS via network "You should setup Ignite Server"

Use make_net_recovery command to perfrom Ignite backup via Ignite Server.
Use make_tape_recovery command to perform OS backup via tape

After apply the hpux os patches on the rx4640 server, is still show me the same error message. Pls refer to the attachment file. Do you any other solution on how to solve this problem.
