SureStore E SC10 and Gentoo/Linux

SC10 can be automatically recognized under HPUX. While in Gentoo it can't. How to deal with it?

Are you sure it's the sc10 it can't recognize and not the scsi card?

in HPUX:
# ioscan|grep LVD
0/0/1/0 ext_bus SCSI C896 Ultra Wide LVD

in Gentoo:
dmesg|grep LVD
sym0: PA-RISC Firmware, ID 7, Fast-40, LVD, parity checking
