Syslog Error

Hi,

I am getting erroin /var/adm/syslog/syslog.log

""CRITICAL (5)" for Resource: "/adapters/events/TL_adapter/0_
12_0_0" (Threshold: >= " 3") Execute the following command to obtain event details: /opt/resmon/bin/resdata -R 1339686920 -r /adapte
rs/events/TL_adapter/0_12_0_0 -n 1339687041 -a


From the /opt/resmon/bin/resdata

Description of Error:


lbolt value: 1582581744

Unable to access previously accessed target
nport ID = 0x663413


And the status of the tape dive in ioscan is Cliemed only

The Status of the fc in ioscan and fcmsutil is "online"

fc 2 0/12/0/0 td CLAIMED INTERFACE HP Tachyon XL2 Fibre Channel Mass Storage Adapter

Anybody know what is the problem pls help me sort-oupt this issue.

I guess you deal with a connection issue or something related to your tape drive (check cables!).

resdata should give you also a probable cause for the error.

If it is an IBM drive you may just need to update the atdd driver - does not need a rebbot either.

If this issue came once you can ignore it. some device connected to fibre link had issue.
It's kind of fun to do the impossible

Hi,

have you tried a very quick tar onto the tape to check either it's possible to access to it?
If it was an isolated event, otherwise you could have an issue when accessing to the tape.

As the error said run the below line and post the output
#/opt/resmon/bin/resdata -R 1339686920 -r /adapte
rs/events/TL_adapter/0_12_0_0 -n 1339687041 -a

Hi,

I hope you r using SAN tape library with multiple drives. For the time mentioned the log, the tape drive was invisible. So the event occured.

Now you r able to see the tapes. So you can ignore this message. But check for FC connections.
