Syslog Errors -> vmunix: WARNING: nfs_stub_getfh(): Old style getfh() call;

Hi,

I get the following errors in /var/adm/syslog/syslog.log in my HP-L2000 - HP- UX 11.00 server:

Apr 8 18:24:19 fs001 vmunix: WARNING: nfs_stub_getfh(): Old style getfh() call;
Apr 8 18:24:53 fs001 above message repeats 30 times
Apr 8 18:25:08 fs001 vmunix: WARNING: nfs_stub_getfh(): Old style getfh() call;

Could anybody please let me know on the sam, or if anybody gives the same error anytime ?

Thank's.

Don't know what this message is. Could be NFS related. Do you have nfs problems??

Re: Syslog Errors -> vmunix: WARNING: nfs_stub_getfh(): Old style getfh() call;

No, i don't have problems with NFS, but this messages are very strange :-(.

See
root : rpcinfo -p | grep nfs
100003 2 udp 2049 nfs
100003 3 udp 2049 nfs

Any sugestion or a command to check eventual problems ?

Thanks You.

bdf -t nfs
Does it return OK?? Any stale nfs file handle error?? Anything in syslog.log??

Are you up to date on NFS patches?? You may want to check this HP.

Re: Syslog Errors -> vmunix: WARNING: nfs_stub_getfh(): Old style getfh() call;

These messages are commonly reported with "mp_b_sema_sleep" messages also and can usually be a resolved by your application vendor (proper tuning and patching) and with proper hp-ux patching.

It will take opening a support case because it might involve Veritas filesystem patches as well.

The issue is too complex to resolve in the forums.
