System Management Homepage Setup Problems

Hi,

We recently installed SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 on a DL380 G5 (not using smartstart).

We installed the Proliant Support pack, and gave the server a restart.

When i log into the system management homepage, and navigate to settings for SNMP Agent, i realise that i have to import a configuration file into this page.

I find a template in the dir given, but it doesnt seem to relate to the HP Management Agent at all.

Also, at the same time, im unable to access the system management homepage from Systems Insight Manager.

Does anyone have any suggestions on this?

Ive attached an image to show what part of smh im talking about.

Thanks

Re: System Management Homepage Setup Problems

The easiest way to configure is to use the 'hpasm reconfigure' command on the system. You'll be prompted for the answers to the questions that then will be written to the snmpd.conf file.

Re: System Management Homepage Setup Problems

Thanks for the reply, ive had a look at the server and entered the command:

"hpasm reconfigure"

But the server doesnt recognise the command.

Do i need to change to a specific directory before hand?

Re: System Management Homepage Setup Problems

Try "/etc/init.d/hpasm reconfigure" (or wherever SUSE puts their init scripts).
