from which user? root?

if so then post the output of "env" of root.

check the Time Zone related entry in all user's .profile, /etc/profile, /etc/default/tz and /etc/TIMEZONE file.

If two users are both using "su - oracle" they should have the same environment and the same TZ variable.

Unless it is somehow looking at the source IP address and it has a GPS to know where that is located. ;-)

Are you sure both of you are using su - oracle and that one of you isn't using su oracle (without minus)?

Re: TIME ZONE issue

Hi,

can you post us 'env|grep TZ' of the users before and after su-ing?
