Tape Drive always showing Write Protected
Hi Experts
We are taking Os backup dailly using make_tape_recovery
When we load dailly OS backup Tape ,it always showing write protected ,but actually its not .
Once we clean and reinsert the tape ,then its showing Normal
$ mt -f /dev/rmt/0mn status
Drive: HP DAT160
Format:
Status: [45114800] BOT write-protected online compression immediate-report-mode
File: 0
Block: 0
Its not a media Problem ,may be its Drive Error?

It is likely a drive problem. The write protect tab position is sensed in the drive and a possible misalignment has occurred with this sensor.
