The ability to modify the Event Log may be disabled - how to enable it ?

Hi

I'm trying to modify Eventlogs on the SMH
(CPQIM350) Eventlog page, but only get following messages:

NOTE: The ability to modify the Event Log may be disabled because you are not logged in with administrator privileges. Click login to log in.

"logged in as root, so I'm member of the Administrator group"

NOTE: The ability to modify the Event Log may be disabled because SNMP sets are disabled in the HP Insight Management Agents. Please refer to the HP Insight Management Agents User's Guide for information on enabling SNMP sets.

enabled SNMP sets by setting the parameter "write=4" in
"/var/cluster/members/member1/opt/CPQIM350/web/im/webagent/webagent.ini"

but changes or modifications to the
events entered in SMH can't be done?

any idea's what else has to be configured to modify (e.g. clear) the existing events?

thanks
-Walter

Hi Walter,
For being able to modify Event Log maintainted by Insight Management Agents, you will need to log in as SMH administrator (which you already have) and also have SNMP write access for the localhost configured in /etc/snmpd.conf.

The entry in /etc/snmpd.conf should look something like
community 127.0.0.1 write

eg. (both of the below entries should work fine)
community doors 127.0.0.1 write
community queen 0.0.0.0 write

NOTE: If you are using any other community other than 'public' in /etc/snmpd.conf, please install the patch CPQIM350.SMH.01 for CPQIM350 from http://h30097.www3.hp.com/cma/patches.html

Thanks and Regards,
Prem.
