The current time on your machine comes before the time on your /etc/passwd file
Hi Everyone,
I am getting this error message on one of my servers.
The current time on your machine comes before the time on your /etc/passwd file
I have seen it before but I can't remember what I did to correct it. I am running HP-UX 11.11 on a rp4440. I think it has to do with a user or process that was updating the passwd file and was aborted leaving a temporary password file somewhere but I don't remember for sure if that is the issue.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks
Tim

Re: The current time on your machine comes before the time on your /etc/passwd file
Hi
You may have a corrupted passwd file , The ordinary system time, shown and set by date, is maintained by the kernel while os is running. may it was the difference.

Re: The current time on your machine comes before the time on your /etc/passwd file
So what is the date/time on your /etc/passwd file compared to the current date/time of the system? Is there a difference?
