The difference between updatediaglif2 updatediaglif

All,

Knowing that updatediaglif2 is for 64 bit and updatediaglif is for 32 bit. What other than the above what does each command give the disk header, are they interchangeable, can you use updatediaglif2 on a 32 bit system and visa versa?

Jim,

No you will have to use the 32 bits version (updatediaglif) on a 32 bits system and the 64 (updatediaglif2) bits version on a 64 bits system.

You can check to see which version you are running by issuing the following
command:
# getconf KERNEL_BITS
64

Re: The difference between updatediaglif2 updatediaglif

All,

I know what LIF is for and I know how to use it, but I have noticed that you can use updatediaglif against a 64 bit system and all looks good and apears to work, I have not tryed
or tested updatediaglif2 against a 32 bit system, because we dont have those old timers anymore. I'm trying to find out what really is the differant between the two.
