There are many warning message in "api.log".

Hello All;

There are many warinig message in "api.log".
Are they any problem?
And what is "api.log"?

api.log is the log where system reports the core_hw events.

lOCATION OF LOG FILE IS :etc/opt/resmon/log/api.log ( am I right)

the Hardware call to get the cabinet info sometimes takes longer than 60ms. This means the OS can timeout the system call, leading to the error being logged. The dm_core_hw monitor reports this,and continues with no problems, so the event in api.log can be ignored.

as it seems to be a Firmware Isuue with logging a warning message,it can be ignored.
If you still want to troubleshoot this I will suggest you to log a call with HP.

It looks like a hardware issue. Could you mention the server model, Os version? If possible upload the chasis code. I understand that you are working with a cell based server.

Hello Kastu,

This is a warning message which can be ignored however if you want to get rid of this pls check the PDC version if below 41.39 pls upgrade atleast equal to or greater than this.. should resolve this issue.

Note: Firmware Upgrade should be done in presence of the HP Engineer ONLY.

Hi Katsu,

api.log is where the OnlineDiags processes log unexpected errors encountered when checking the hardware, etc. Events reporting problems with the hardware are logged in event.log (in /var/opt/resmon/log).

In this case, dm_core_hw attempted to get the cabinet info and this failed. As suggested, you should check your firmware (PDC) is up-to-date, as this problem was seen with some older versions of firmware when the call to fetch the cabinet information took longer than 60 seconds.

What version of the OnlineDiags do you have installed? It's worth making sure that this is current too, with the latest patch installed.

As you said, that the STM version is bit older, and pathces are so either.
