Thrid party NAS mount on UNIX

i am getting following error while mounting NAS through nfs,

nfs mount: get_fh: BUFFALO:: RPC: Rpcbind failure - RPC: Timed out
nfs mount: get_fh: BUFFALO:: RPC: Rpcbind failure - RPC: Timed out
nfs mount: retry: retrying(1) for: /test after 5 seconds
nfs mount: retry: giving up on: /test

kindly suggest resolution

Yes ican ping NAS(BUFFALO). i have added host entry at Unix machine.

NFS with :

rpcinfo SERVER

showmount -e SERVER

for both commands with returend with the same error type. some RPC errors.

ok that seems to be a problem with the firewall or network restriction.

we can access the NAS over the network from WINTEL machine, only having problem with unix.

the question is if the wintel and unix machines are on the same network, and have the same network restriction ?

never see that before, do you have some firewall settings on the HP-UX ??
