Good morning!!
We are currently in the market for an application which will monitor, and trent our production and DR environments. As of now, our production server is an rp8420 running 11i ver 2, (11.23.) We are implementing in the near future a DR system offsite, including a mirror of our production SAN, (EMC.)
Would HP Openview be our best bet, or is there something a little more cost effective out there that would monitor system health, and provide some sort of trending, to keep an eye on system changes?
Thank you in advance!!
ron

Solution
Shalom,
HP Openview product suite would do a good job of it, and it has components specifically engineered to work properly with HP-UX based systems.
Its not the least expensive, but it does have HP's very good support structure standing behind it.
You have a number of options here, from do it yourself monitor and email scripting to a system provided by HP Openview that includes a number of helpful tools.
No solution is complete, and you may need something like tripwire or nagios to complete your monitoring suite.

Re: Trending application
Thank you for verifying what I already suspected.
