Tru64 - Active Directory Tough Questions

I know there are Single Sign-on things like PAM Kerberos that allow you to authenticate against an Active Directory. I'm wondering how robust they are. For example, if someone has an expired password and they try to login, will it simply reject them, or ask them to change their password?

Another possiblity is to use the OSIS or Internet Express Software which contains a module for LDAP authentification.
