Trying to get a 2nd opinion on determining how far my process has 'runaway' on me.

Aloha Great HP Guru(s),

I'm getting reports of a sluggish HP, and I instinctively issue the TOP command to see what's going on under the hood. My eyes read in the CPU USER column and the top 2 processes under %WCPU and %CPU and I get the nagging feeling that my 'runcbl' program has run away to someplace that I can't follow... I'm thinking these two processes are totally destroying the performance profile of this sleek and powerful machine. What say you?

v/r,
Chris Elmore

Re: Trying to get a 2nd opinion on determining how far my process has 'runaway' on me.

You've pretty much hit the nail on the head!

These processes

1 ? 8701 oracle 241 20 55820K 4676K run 71028:02 97.41 97.24 runcbl
0 ? 29710 oracle 241 20 55436K 4292K run 39521:10 97.32 97.15 runcbl

are using LOTS of CPU and have accumulated LOTS of CPU.

Aloha Patrick,

We've crossed paths before on the ITRC and you've never failed me... neither THEN, nor NOW. Thanks for confirming my issue so quickly, that pretty much cements what I need to do to fix it. Please have a great day my friend.

:-)
