Trying to get a L15000-7x to recognize an IBM San
We currently have some old servers L15000, that are connected to an EMC san using A6795A HBA's.
We have inherited these machines which have very little maintenance done to them.
The problem I have is that after zoning to the IBM San and assigning a new disk the cards will not login to the san fabric. We have left them zoned to the EMC fabric at the same time.
I have updated the GSP and PDC firmware but that didn't help. The fibre channl driver is 11.11.09.
Do I need to upgrade the fibre channel driver? Any other suggestions would be helpfull.
Thanks,
Dan

Re: Trying to get a L15000-7x to recognize an IBM San
From HP-UX check the state of the cards using 'fcmsutil /dev/xxx' Note the WWN.
Login to the switch and see if the WWN of the card is performing a login (PLOGI). Disable and re-enable the port if you want to watch the logs real-time.
If you see this, then you can say that the cards are talking to the switch OK.

Hope this helps!
