Trying to install Linux on rp5450

I have tried the latest gentoo and debian without much luck. I have read all the docs at those sites. Looks like it might work.
Does anyone have it working?

The Debian stock installer does not detect many new hardware. Instead install Sidux or Ubuntu server, the Sidux ISO image is in fact a squashfs LiveCD with more elaborate support for the newer line of hardware.

Re: Trying to install Linux on rp5450

The rp5450 is a PA-RISC box... you'll need a linux distro that would run on the PA-RISC platform.

Are you attempting to install a rev that supportt PA-RISC?

Sorry, By 'not much success' I mean gentoo loads the 64bit kernel runs through the initrd and some rc scripts. Then it hangs at the prompt.

Re: Trying to install Linux on rp5450

Shalom,

That is a PA-RISC system. It doesn't support most normal forms of Linux.

Only a distro ported to PA-RISC has any chance of working.
