UPS issues

Hello,

Recently we've been having our UPS software sending messages to our users on our HP-UX server saying that the system will shutdown in ## of minutes. We've checked out voltage monitor and the logs. These happen when the buildings lights flicker. Is there a way that we can keep the UPS from having our server send these messages till the "last minute"?

Thank You,
Tim Giossi

Re: UPS issues

If they are the ISEE events which you wanted to stop then

#/sbin/init.d/rstemsListener stop

and if it is the EMS alerts then check the configured requests with /etc/opt/resmon/lbin/moncheck , and you can use /etc/opt/resmon/lbin/monconfig to remove any that are not needed anymore.

Re: UPS issues

sounds like the message from the old "upsmond" monitor.

This should be available to configure under SAM. IIRC, you can configure the length of time the power is out before messaging, the delay to shutdown, and the length of time power has to be up before its considered stable....but its been along time since I've had separate ups'es

Re: UPS issues

There are several different UPS each with different software available for hp-ux.

What do you have?

Hope this helps!

Re: UPS issues

During the config you have configured a port for the software's web server. Just point your browser to this port and configure the UPS software.

Hope this helps!
