UX11iV3 - BL870 - DVD Drive on OA

I’ve attached a DVDRom Drive to the OA USB Port and stuffed a HPUX Application DVD into it. I’ve then presented it to the server in bay 2 (a BL870 running 11v3) of my C7000 Chassis using the OA’s Enclosure Settings menu.
Supposedly, you should be able to mount that device and use it just as if it were attached to the server, but ioscan is reporting:

/dev/deviceFileSystem/Usb/MassStorage/dsk/disk@UnknownDevice-1008+4902=002264028b0f

as long as the device is connected. I’m not sure what you have to have in the kernel before insf will create /dev/ for it.

Any ideas?

That is the device file. Try mounting it:

mount /dev/deviceFileSystem/Usb/MassStorage/dsk/disk@UnknownDevice-1008+4902=002264028b0f /cdrom

and see what it says.

That was just too obvious! Sheesh... I'm getting too old for this.

That worked!
