Unable to install sw with swinstall

I'm trying to install MirrorDisk/UX on to hpux 11.31. I have a cust ID and codeword for it. But still I'm unable to install this product from DVD, because of error in swinstall:

ERROR: Could not open remote depot/root "/cdrom" due to an RPC or
network I/O error.
* Retry number 1 of 1 for product information.
ERROR: Could not open remote depot/root "/cdrom" due to an RPC or
network I/O error.
ERROR: Cannot open source. Check above for errors, as well as the
daemon logfile on the source host (default location:
/var/adm/sw/swagentd.log).
ERROR: Cannot continue the Analysis Phase until the previous errors
are corrected.

Does anybody have a clue?

Re: Unable to install sw with swinstall

have you mounted the DVD ..?

ioscan -fnC disk --> look for DVD

mkdir /DVD

mount -F cdfs /dev/dsk/Cxtxdx /DVD

than

swinstall -s /DVD

Thanks,
Johnson

Re: Unable to install sw with swinstall

Yes, I've mounted the DVD and I see it's contents in swinstall. Then I choose any product there and have above error...

I did the same steps on other machine with similar config with no issues. But here I'm stuck...

Thanks,

Re: Unable to install sw with swinstall

Hi Stepan,

Could you post or attach the /var/adm/sw/swagentd.log?

Is this a new installation? Can you resolve the hostname + ip address?
# nslookup your_host_name
# nslookup ip_of_your_host_name
same result?

Re: Unable to install sw with swinstall

Robert-Jan, that's a great idea ;)
I've checked IP info with nslookup and found that in /etc/hosts there is a wrong info, and it does not correspond to what is configured in /etc/rc.config.d/netconf.
After fixind this and restarting swagentd with
/sbin/init.d/swagentd stop, start
Everything worked just fine even without reboot.

Thank you both ;)
