I have been looking at the threads in the ITRC, and all speaks aboout some patches of mux and Pty (I have the latest one) and the PDC ones (I also have the latest one, 44.28).
My Ignite version is 7.6.1 and I am no sure if by upgrading my version to the latest one (7.8.201) will solve this.
Any ideas about this? Why is this happening as well... Thanks for the helps...

Re: Unclaimed Device
do you make your Ignite backups over network to an Ignite server or to a local tape ?
If tape is your option, check whether the device is available:
# ioscan -fnC tape

Re: Unclaimed Device
ERROR: Could not write disk information file
...
======= 05/15/09 00:00:56 METDST make_net_recovery completed unsuccessfully
Between those lines, there are no error messages, just normal outputs checcking the vg and lvols.
I think it is not an ignite issue.

Re: Unclaimed Device
I assume you have read this thread,
http://forums13.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=108143
Perhaps, another idea is to rmsf -H 0/0/4/0 do the ignite to have one. After that ioscan and insf to see if this gsp is always unknown.
Hope it helps

Re: Unclaimed Device
don't you have a saved ioscan output from the time when backups were running normally ? You could check what was the state of the device before the problem appeared.

Re: Unclaimed Device
Before making a destructive thing, I would like to consider other options.
Hi Jozef. The last ioscan I have appears as well as UNCLAIMED, but 2 weeks ago's ignite just worked perfectly (I have no copy of it as it was overwritten). Is from now it is not working.
Any ideas or comments???

Re: Unclaimed Device
Are the necessary entries there, like:
Module Configured Loadable
=================================================
[..]
PCItoPCI Y -
asio0 Y -
You might need to re-include the drivers in your kernel (in this case with reboot).
My 2 cents,
Armin

Re: Unclaimed Device
I am going to upgrade my Ignite sw to the latest version, the 7.8.201 as I had to do it anyway, but don├В┬┤t know if this will fix the issue. Any more ideas?
