Unified core location

Hi All

HPUX 11.31

Requirement: We want to confgiure unified coredump location for particular user, means all the process owned by this user's coredump wants to redirect to this particular coredump location.

Please let us know the feasibilities.

Shalom Jeev,

This varies application to application. Application core dump characteristics are built into the code of the application.

With shell environment variables, you can stop all core dumps, but where they pop up is going to have to be handled at the application level.

So in this condition same needed to be defined in the user's shell variables,is it any way to find where this is defind or it defer from application to application?

What you say about Global coredump configuring.

As you are on 11.31 you should look at the coreadm command which should provide the functionality you need:

man 1m coreadm

for details...

I don't see this in coreadm(1m). It is either global or per process.
