Unknown processess
Dear all,
I'm using Red Hat Linux in my HP server. Today I have noticed that some unknown process are running in my server ,like migration/0,keventd etc. I have seen it through TOP command. Anybody can tell me what are these processess. I' sending the out put of TOP as an attachment..

keventd was a kernel thread associated with the task queues (2.4). In 2.6,
task queues are now work queues and keventd has been replaced by worker
threads (events/X).
migration/0 it's a kernel process and directly related to the number of CPU's
you have. It's not something you can turn off, nor would you want to....
You can find that info and more with google.

Hi,
Beside top the 'pstree' command while reveal also who there parent processes are and how the hierachy is build.
