Unwanted Apache and Tomcat installed

I just reinstalled HP-UX 11iv1 from December 2006. I used the advanced options and unselected the Apache and Tomcat during the install phase. The applications were installed anyways. Is there a problem, or did I miss something. I am configuring my systems with security in mind and these applications are not needed.

If you don't need it edit /etc/rc.config.d/hpws* files to prevent starting apache/tomcat and webmin.

You can all ways #swremove hpuxwsApache
and hpuxwsTomcat

I don't think you missed anything. I haven't installed 11iv1 from scratch in a couple of years, but I seem to recall it ignored the attempts to not install the web applications at that time. If you don't want them installed, you have to remove them afterwards.

To get the names:

swlist -l product | grep hpws

swremove

tomcat requires apache, so do them both on the same command line.

samba perhaps?
It might not have its own sw entry in swremove. For me it was called CIFS Server 3.0e. It was under the Foundation SW.
