Update the hp ux 11.31 to sept 2010 and install ptches using with drd

Hello Experts,

I need to update my hp-ux 11.31 to sept.2010 level ,patch upgradation to Dec.2010 level using with drd tool on my rx2660 box.
my query ,is it possible to update the os and update the patches on single window ,means with out reboot the server after the os update using with drd.can any one can update me the procedure.

Basic procedure is to clone the OS using DRD, then updating the clone.

Finally boot the cloned OS.

1)Upgrade the os(11.31) using with drd

2)activate the cloned disk

3)update the patches on the activated disk

4)Reboot the server

As per your procedure there is no reboot required after the os upgrade and reboot requird only the drd activation window. is it right???

In this procedure you upgrade and patch the *inactive* clone using special drd-... commands.


The final reboot is needed to activate the clone (you just boot from the disk that holds the clone).

Only single reboot , is it right, procedure below

1.drd clone ...cloning the system

2.drd runcmd update -ux ...updatting the os

3.drd runcmd swinstall ... for installing patches

4.drd activate

shutdown -ry 0

is it ok ??
