Hello SIM experts.
We have many RHEL 5 servers running the following PSP 8.4 packages.
Insight Management Agents (SNMP) for HP Proliant Systems
HP System Health Application and Command Line Utilities
HP iLO Channel Interface Driver
HP System Management Homepage (SMH)
hp System Management Homepage Template Package
HP Version Control Agent for Linux
hponcfg тАУ An RILOE II/iLo online configuration utility
HP Insight Diagnostics
HP High Performance iLO2 Mouse X driver for Linux
We are planning to upgrade these same packages to the versions provided with PSP 8.60.
We would like to use hpsum in a for..loop to perform these upgrades.
This for..loop would be executed on an administrative RHEL host in our environment that has root SSH access to each of our RHEL servers.
My question is, what would the hpsum command in the for..loop look like to update the packages listed above?
I have the latest "HP SUM guide" but it isn't clear to me exactly what options we'd use with hpsum to upgrade just the packages above.
Has anyone out there performed similar updates?
Any assistance would really be appreciated.
Thanks.

Re: Updating PSP packages on RHEL with hpsum
The manual does show examples -- there's even an infile example.
What I usually do is just use the GUI.. same thing.

Solution
Tom,
The best way to implement this is to put the HPSUM files in a directory with the RPMs and just run HPSUM silently. By default, HPSUM will take any RPMs it finds in the directory and install/update them. Thus, it is not necessary to pass in individual files unless you want to. If you download the entire PSP 8.60, you can just delete the RPMs you don't want to deploy along with the BP00xxxx.xml file and HPSUM will deploy the rest using the following command-line:
./hpsum -s
