SolutionThere is no direct way to upgrade from 9.x to 11.0. If you want to upgrade you should upgrade 9.x to 10.20 first and then upgrade it to 11.0.
Suggest you plan on installing 11.0 freash on the system rather then thinking of upgrade. The disk requirements are high for 11.0 and may not match the present layout you may have for 9.x
Here is a thread for more info.

Hope this helps.
Thanks

Re: Upgrade to HP-UX 11.0 from HP-UX 9.0
To move from 9.x to 11.x you would have to step through 10.x. It would be cleaner to simply cold-install 11.x. There's quite a bit of documentation here:

Without a doubt, Sanjay and James are correct. Do a cold (virgin) install of 11.x.

Re: Upgrade to HP-UX 11.0 from HP-UX 9.0
I agree with Sanjay: it will be a lot easier to do a clean install of HP-UX 11 and recover your files, than to upgrade from HP-UX 9.0.
It's possible to vgimport other Volume Groups after install, but make sure you have a good backup.
good luck,
Thierry.

Re: Upgrade to HP-UX 11.0 from HP-UX 9.0
If you are talking about your same server which was down for more than a year, then cold install of 11.x is the best way to upgrade.
Good luck,
