Upgrading Tomcat version from B.5.5.20.00 to B.5.5.27.02
We need to upgrade HP-UX Tomcat-based Servlet Engine version from B.5.5.20.00 to B.5.5.27.02 on HPUX v2 server. After upgrading the tomcat version I am copying old configuration /opt/hpws/tomcat/conf directory from backup to new one .
If I try to start tomcat using /sbin/init.d/hpws_tomcat start , but it is not starting . Just it is hanging , I can not see any information in log file /opt/hpws/tomcat/logs/catalina.out.
Is there any documented procedure available to upgrade the tomcat?

Re: Upgrading Tomcat version from B.5.5.20.00 to B.5.5.27.02
Shalom,
The upgrade method is probably at fault here.
The way to go is back up the configuration files, do an upgrade via swinstall.
Then run a simple start/stop test to make sure it works.
Then put your customizations in. You will probably need to do this one line at a time.
I had to do this when I went to apache 2.2 from 2.0.x. My configuration file would not work. Fortunately, my changes were documented and I was able to lift them with very little trouble, paying heed to new security upgrades.
