Use of pax

I want to know if is possible to copy file to tape with pax utility.
If its possible how to restore that file from tape.

Sure, pax(1) is a better tar.
pax -w -f /dev/tape-device -v file ... # write
pax -r -f /dev/tape-device -v # read

Can I save data bigger than 2gb.
And pax is it better than frecover (more quick)

Sure. You may have to download the PAX-ENH product from software.hp.com.
