User application installation in TruCluster

Hi all,

I would like to do node specific installation and cluster-wide installation of an application (the installation directory would be /archie/yyy). What should I do?, how should I use CDSL on this scenario? Could you please suggest me?

Thanks
Archie

Re: User application installation in TruCluster

What kind of application or installer will you use? Considering the Cluster File System, the application will be available for each node, and if you create a CDSL, then yes, data could be available to one node and not to the other, but, why do this, if the nice thing of cluster is the application failover?

You could install the application on CFS and configure it to run just on one node at the time.
Por que hacerlo dificil si es posible hacerlo facil? - Why do it the hard way, when you can do it the easy way?

Re: User application installation in TruCluster

You need to create CDSL only if there is 'node-specific' data. If the files are all common, then CFS will automatically provide you the required transparency.
