VGIMPORT AND PRESENTING OF SAN DRIVES

I have a two server set-up for DR. Each server has an identical counterpart in production, but my machines are DR-only. I have copied the latest vg mapfiles from the production servers to its respective DR peer. I want to present from the SAN new luns to support the DR data. Each sever's /etc/lvmtab contains only the vg00 disks of each server. How to do I configure volume groups with space from the SAN to complete my DR site? Without the luns present, vgimport has nothing to reference. What am I missing here?

Nothing.

VGIMPORT does no good here since there are no LUNs on you current SAN, so nothing to import. VGIMPORT will NOT create anything for you.

In a case like this, you must set up your VGs and LVs manually (or via a script).
