Re: Virtual Disk Mapping to Linux

HP offers a multipath kit for linux, I don't have the url here, but I can post it for You tomorrow.

In essence each path is assigned a unique name and those are tied together using udev. The DataCenter Linux working group had more documentation on that, but it was gone last time I checked, so unless you know your ways around udev I suggest you just wait a day :)

HP LMP (Linux MultiPath) - see http://docs.hp.com/en/8859/udev_sglinuxconfig.pdf for more information

(don't know if this is the same as posted by Ivan, I'm a bit in a rush now)

Re: Virtual Disk Mapping to Linux

Hi,

The drivers available here:

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=12169&prodSeriesId=439556&prodNameId=315741&swEnvOID=1080&swLang=8&mode=2&taskId=135&swItem=co-47070-1

contain versions for both 2.4 and 2.6 kernels. If I recall correctly, you have to remember to select the failover option when installing the drivers...

You might also need to ensure that the firmware on the QLogic cards is at the latest release to enable failover support.

Hope this helps,

Cheers,

Rob
