Vxvm error
Hi Friends,
I have removed a disk from the rootdg but still the entry is shown in the down as "was removed". How can I permanently remove this entry.
The entry is mapped some where because of this I am facing problems in mirroring after replacing the failed "sda" (Root disk).
I feel its is because I did not remove the sub disks from it, but still If any one can throw some lights on me????
[root@vmnode2 ~]# vxdisk list
DEVICE TYPE DISK GROUP STATUS
sda auto:sliced rootdisk1 rootdg online
sdd auto:sliced rootmirror rootdg online
- - rootdisk rootdg removed was:sda
Thanks
Adithyan

Re: Vxvm error
How did u remove the disk? r u sure if sda is a combination of sub disks?
As far as i know vxdisk list shows each individual disk at the host level.

Re: Vxvm error
Hi Adithyan,
I would run vxdiskadm options 4 and 5.
4 Remove a disk for replacement
5 Replace a failed or removed disk
Maybe option 5 is enough.
Regards,
Robert-Jan
