What could I expect to see in user.log

For monitoring purposes, what kind of entries could I possibly see or come across in the user.log file.

From my research so far "User-level messages" is what is logged.
Anyone expand on this?

Thanks

'syslogd' manpage would give some useful info.

Can't see anything in the man pages that details what kind of messages I expect to see. To rephrase my question What kind of stuff is logged in this file? Any examples.

Hi

here an example of an entry in user.log. You can create one yourself with logger "text". Applications which write messages without a specific category go to user.log

greetings,

Michael
