World writable files in /var/opt/dce/rpc/local

I'm finding quite a few world writable files in this location. Some are sockets which shouldn't be deleted, but a few are not. Some are prior to the last boot time. Does anyone know if they can be deleted?

For example:

ls -l /var/opt/dce/rpc/local/s-3
total 0
srwxrwxrwx 1 root root 0 Jan 30 2008 135
srwxrwxrwx 1 root sys 0 Jan 30 2008 2121
-rwxrwxrwx 1 root root 0 Jul 25 2005 49181
srwxrwxrwx 1 root root 0 Jan 30 2008 49196
srwxrwxrwx 1 root root 0 Jan 30 2008 49199
-rwxrwxrwx 1 root root 0 Jun 25 2004 49213
-rwxrwxrwx 1 root root 0 Jun 25 2004 49216
-rwxrwxrwx 1 root root 0 Jul 25 2005 49229

Thanks,
Jim

Re: World writable files in /var/opt/dce/rpc/local

Hello,

The sockets are OK.

Remove the obsolete and very old plain files.
They are not taking any space (apart from
using an inode), but it is good to clean them
up.

Cheers,
