a question about lvlnboot -R
Hello:
I have a question. when I check man page for lvlnboot, I found:
" -R Recover any missing links to all of the
logical volumes specified in the Boot Data
Reserved Area and update the Boot Data
Reserved Area of each bootable physical
volume in the volume group (see
pvcreate(1M))."
It say lvlnboot -R recover any missing links. My question is where lvlnboot recover these from, /etc/lvmconf/vgxx.conf, PVRA, or VGRA?
Who whould kindly explain to me?
thanks

Re: a question about lvlnboot -R
Hi Wang,
Every volume group has a configuration file in the /etc/lvlnconf directory, so whenever you execute any LVM command the configuration file is saved in /etc/lvmconf/vgxx.conf. The lvlnboot command is used to update the BDRA.
Hope this info is usefull..
