all printing down

Greetings
All of my printing has ceased on rp7420 (hpux 11.23). Jobs leave the print queue - but nothing prints anywhere. Tried stopping/starting print services. Recently had /var reach 100% capacity, then cleared offending user file.

Re: all printing down

What was the offending file? Is the lpsched running? Have you tried stopping/restarting lpsched?

Re: all printing down

Are you going to a configured remote printer? You say they leave the print queue but to where? I'm just guessing here but if they are leaving the print queue then they are going to another system that is functioning as the print server? Have you looked at that system?

Re: all printing down

You might want to double check the permissions and ownership of /opt/hpnpl.

Re: all printing down

The actual culprit was a corruption of the outputq file under /var/spool/lp. Once the file was removed and the print services were started, printing was ok again. Had to manually clean out queues that had needed print jobs, but it worked. thanks
